5/27/2026

The word “empathy” carries a special warmth.

It means sharing and understanding another person’s feelings. Yet in today’s fast-paced world, truly understanding someone else’s emotions is often more difficult than we realize. In fact, many of us may be living without fully understanding even our own hearts.

And perhaps that is exactly why empathy is more important than ever.

Artificial intelligence continues to become smarter every day. It can quickly provide answers, solve problems, and make our lives more convenient. We are surrounded by endless media that keeps us entertained, meals designed for one person, and online shopping that delivers almost anything to our doorstep with a single click.

As convenience grows, waiting becomes rare. Being together becomes less necessary.

And little by little, doing things “together” becomes more difficult.

As a result, many people naturally focus on what they need, what they want, and how they feel.

I work as a real estate agent.

But the homes I help people buy and sell are much more than buildings.

They are places filled with daily routines, children’s laughter, family memories, and years of life experiences.

That is why I believe I must understand the excitement and hopes of a buyer. At the same time, I must also appreciate the emotions of a seller who is preparing to leave a home that has been part of their life for many years.

If buying and selling homes were simply about numbers and data, then anyone could do this job.

Perhaps someday an AI agent could do it as well.

So what is something that only people can truly offer?

I believe the answer is empathy.

For much of my life, I focused only on moving forward. I wanted to succeed. I wanted to protect my family. I wanted to survive and thrive in a competitive world.

Because of that, I did not always pay close attention to the people around me.

I experienced fewer emotional wounds because I rarely stopped long enough to notice them. Even when I was hurt, I often had no time to reflect on it. Life kept moving, and so did I.

Eventually, I arrived where I am today.

And one day, I found myself asking a simple question:

“What does it really mean to live while only looking straight ahead?”

That question changed something inside me.

I began wanting to move forward differently—not necessarily faster, but deeper and with greater purpose.

I wanted to pay more attention to the people around me.

Why does someone seem happier lately?

Why have they become quieter?

Why do they look tired?

I want to become someone who notices those small changes.

Someone who can understand what others may be carrying in their hearts.

As I listen to the stories of buyers and sellers, I hope to walk alongside them—not just for a transaction, but for a meaningful part of their journey.

Because real estate is ultimately about people, not properties.

And empathy is what makes that difference possible.”

5/11/2026

Time keeps moving forward without pause, and we are already heading toward the halfway point of this year.

I am also living at a fairly fast pace.

To others, it may look like I am living a relaxed or even laid-back life.

But inside, I am taking large strides, trying not to fall behind as I keep up with time.

These days, I am reading “Myeongsim Bogam You Should Read When You Are Halfway Through Life.”

Among it, there was a character that especially stayed in my heart today.

It was “In (仁, Ren)”, meaning humanity or benevolence.

Honestly, I am not very good at Chinese characters.

I am from a generation that had “Classical Chinese” classes in middle and high school, but at that time, I never truly understood why we had to learn them.

And since memorization was never my strength, I did not study them very hard either.

But today, I encountered the character “仁” once again.

It is made of the radical for “person” (亻) and the number “two” (二).

It is said to represent two people together.

The book included this passage:

“To learn widely and deepen one’s intention,
to ask questions earnestly,
and to reflect on what is near —
therein lies Ren (仁).”

I came to understand this passage in my own way.

If we continue learning, keep the center of our hearts steady, and sincerely care for and ask questions of the people close to us,

then at some point, life becomes not just about “me,” but about “us.”

Yesterday, I received a call from a very close friend who said she felt hurt.

As someone trying to sell her home, she felt that I had not given her enough attention or care because I was too busy.

That was never my intention.

But if she felt that way, then perhaps that is also one of my shortcomings.

As I listened to her voice grow louder than usual, I felt hurt too.

And before I realized it, a tear quietly fell.

But after thinking more deeply about it, I realized that in that moment, she was not only my friend.

She was also a seller who desperately wanted to sell her home.

And accepting those emotions was also part of my responsibility as a listing agent.

Perhaps that is why the character “仁 (Ren)” stayed in my heart even longer today.

I want to pay a little more attention to the people close to me.

Ask a few more sincere questions.

And look a little more carefully into their hearts.

“Friend, how was your day today?”

4/21/2026

Recently, I’ve seen many new real estate agents starting their careers in Georgia, and as someone with more experience, there’s something I truly want to share.

Just as we don’t make quick decisions when buying a car, choosing a home—where we will live—is an even more important and careful decision.

For clients, deciding “which agent to work with” is not easy.
Naturally, this makes the market even more challenging for new agents.

At our company, we currently have three new agents.
Two are in their first year, and one just started three months ago.
Each of them had different reasons for starting—some wanted independence, some simply loved looking at homes, and others had financial motivations.

However, having a reason to start does not guarantee success.

While we work in buying and selling homes, what we truly do is people-centered sales.
And building relationships with people never happens quickly.
Relationships are not something that can be completed instantly.

In the end, there is only one thing we can do:
give our best in every single interaction.
We never know when or how a brief encounter today may come back in the future.

I obtained my real estate license in October 2013.
At that time, I thought, “Once I get my license, I’ll start selling homes right away.”
But reality was very different.

Without experience or results, who would trust me to sell their home or help them buy one?

Back then, opportunities were even more limited, as platforms like YouTube and social media were not as active as they are today.

So I gave 120% effort to every single client.
Even with rental clients, I did not think, “They might buy a home later.”
I simply focused on doing my best in that moment.

Day by day, I built my experience—and it took about 13 years to become who I am today.

To all new agents who may be struggling right now, I want to say this:
It may sound obvious, even cliché, but live each day without regret.
Be grateful for every client you meet, and always do your best in any situation.

Today, we live in an era where you can promote yourself through social media.
There are far more opportunities than before.

So focus on the present moment and give it your all.
We are not just selling homes—we are selling ourselves.

If you never forget that, results will follow.
I hope today becomes one of the best and most fulfilling days of your life.

4/10/2026

A Heavy Day

Today felt a little heavier than usual.

A client I had been working with closely for the past two months let me know that they decided to move forward with another agent—someone they were introduced to through a personal connection.

In real estate, I know this is something that can happen.
Still, it’s hard not to pause when it does.

“What could I have done differently?”
“I truly thought I gave it my best.”

These thoughts quietly settled in, along with a sense of disappointment.

Does Sincerity Always Come Through?

I always try to approach my clients with genuine care and sincerity.
But when that sincerity doesn’t fully come across, I realize that may also be my responsibility.

This experience made me reflect:
“Was I communicating clearly enough?”
“Did I truly deliver what I intended?”

Perhaps moments like this are what help me grow stronger and better in what I do.

The Weight of This Profession

Being a real estate agent is a unique profession.
The work only begins when a client chooses to work with you.

That’s what makes it both meaningful and challenging—
it requires trust, care, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Even after 14 years in this field,
there are still moments like this that make my heart sink.

What I’m Seeing in Today’s Market

I remember a client from out of state once asking me:

“Why are there so many real estate agents in Georgia?
Everyone says they’re an expert, but it’s hard to tell who really is.”

Working in Georgia, I understand exactly what they meant.

Today, platforms like YouTube make it easier than ever to appear knowledgeable—even without much experience.
While that creates more opportunities,
it also makes true expertise and real experience more valuable than ever.

Resetting My Mindset

Simply having “years of experience” is no longer enough.
What truly matters is how that experience is used to serve clients.

Instead of letting today’s disappointment pass by,
I want to learn from it, reflect on it, and grow from it.

To become just a little better than I was yesterday.

Closing Thoughts

Real estate is ultimately about people—
and with people come choices, timing, and connections.

I believe today’s experience is part of the journey
to becoming a better agent.

And so, I’ll keep learning,
and continue striving to be better than I was yesterday.

3/30/2026

Today was a full day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., packed with final walk-throughs and closings.
Transactions that began last November, as well as those contracted in January and February…
all four closings were scheduled in a single day.

On days with such a tight schedule, a small sense of tension always lingers.
I worry about missing something,
or causing inconvenience to someone because of a mistake on my part.

Thankfully, today went smoothly and calmly.
One moment that stood out was at 10 a.m., when a client handed me an envelope quietly, as a token of their gratitude.

I politely tried to refuse, but I couldn’t return the heartfelt gesture that was already in my hands.
Strangely, I found it hard to open the envelope right away.
It wasn’t about the amount inside, but about feeling the depth of the gratitude and thoughtfulness it carried.

So, like the memories of today,
I want to keep that envelope just as it is.
Their sincerity recognizing my own sincerity.
Though the day was busy and hectic, my heart felt warmer and fuller with gratitude than ever before.

Thank you again for today.
For those who see and appreciate my sincerity,
I promise once more to continue my work with diligence and authenticity.

10/12/2025

When preparing for our office relocation, it naturally led to a remodeling project.
Although it’s not a building I own, I wanted to make it as comfortable as my home—
a place where I could truly enjoy working each day.

“Our goal was simple: an office where our team would want to come every day, and where guests would feel like they’ve stepped into a showroom.”

I’ve never considered myself someone with big ambitions, but this time was different.
I personally designed each space, choosing every small detail of the interior myself.
Before I knew it, it had become quite a large project.

Of course, without professional help, there were plenty of trial and error moments.
For instance, I didn’t fully account for the size of the conference table and the chair movement paths, so after installation, I realized the room felt too tight.
We ended up moving the fireplace and redoing part of the flooring—
our contractors truly went through a lot because of my lack of planning!

I thought remodeling an office would be similar to renovating a home, but I quickly learned how different they are.
A house usually requires updates on existing structures, whereas an office must be built from scratch to fit the team’s workflow and image.
Merging two separate units (Suite 203 and 204) into one office was especially challenging.

Still, seeing the space come together piece by piece has been incredibly rewarding.
As of today, we’re about two weeks away from completion, and I can’t wait for the first day in our new and beautifully renewed office.

In real estate, I’m constantly reminded of how deeply a space can influence people’s emotions.
Through this remodeling project, I experienced it firsthand once again —
a great space doesn’t just look nice; it inspires better energy, creativity, and relationships.

II look forward to welcoming you soon — in a brighter, more inspiring, and more professional office than ever before.

09/01/2025

Today, I toured homes in the Winder area with clients who are considering relocating from out of state. After exploring the neighborhoods, we headed to Arirang K in Johns Creek for a late lunch.
The flounder mulhoe (cold spicy sashimi soup) and hwedupbap (Korean-style sashimi rice bowl) they ordered were far more generous than expected. One of my clients was amazed at the size of the bowl and the quality of the food, exclaiming, “I’ve never seen such a plentiful hwedupbap before!” We all shared a good laugh and enjoyed the meal together.

Of course, a bowl of hwedupbap might not have a direct connection to real estate. But discovering a new community isn’t just about floor plans or school districts—it’s also about experiencing the everyday lifestyle you could enjoy there.

Georgia is a region that’s growing rapidly, yet it still retains a sense of warmth and generosity in its people. My clients even mentioned, “It would be wonderful to live surrounded by this kind of food and atmosphere.” Their words felt like more than just a compliment—it was a sign that the area left a lasting, positive impression.

Georgia may not be perfect, but it offers so many people opportunities, breathing room, and the chance for a fresh start. As an agent, my role is not only to show homes, but also to share a vision of what life could look like here.

Tomorrow, I’ll be back in Winder with my clients, exploring again and searching for those possibilities together. Let’s go!

08/23/2025

It’s hard to believe that I’ve been working as a real estate agent for more than 10 years now.
When I first started, it wasn’t easy for me to speak in front of strangers, and building new relationships took a lot of time. But as the years passed, I changed. I think people naturally evolve as they go through life—sometimes in good ways, sometimes in unexpected ones.

These days, I find myself meeting new people much more often than before. In the past, most of my clients came through personal introductions, but now more and more people reach out to me directly after finding me online.

Today, I have one of those special new meetings scheduled, and since this morning, I’ve felt both excitement and a little nervousness.
“What kind of stories will we share?”
“What kind of home will they be looking for in their current situation?”
Because I never meet someone with all the answers in hand, I always carry equal parts anticipation and concern. Yet that’s what makes this work both challenging and meaningful for me.

Despite high interest rates and rising costs nationwide, Georgia’s real estate market is still active. Especially in metro Atlanta’s outer suburbs—places like Suwanee, Johns Creek, Buford, Hoschton, and Winder—demand remains steady thanks to larger lots and relatively affordable prices. Families are also prioritizing strong school districts and family-friendly communities, so certain ZIP codes continue to be in high demand.

Of course, I can’t promise to find the “perfect home” every time. But by truly listening to each client’s situation and walking alongside them, I do my best to help them make the best possible choice.

As I step into today’s new meeting, I return once again to the mindset I had when I first began this journey. With sincerity and care, I move forward—hoping this new encounter will grow into a meaningful connection and, ultimately, a successful home journey.

08/14/2025

Everyone goes through difficult seasons in life. Some have already passed theirs, some are right in the middle of it, and others will eventually face it.
Lately, one saying has been echoing in my heart:
“God gives each person only as much weight as they can carry.”
That thought helps me steady my heart.

When I first started my real estate career, I was desperate. It wasn’t an easy or leisurely beginning. I stepped into this field as a breadwinner, to support my family.

At first, everything felt unfamiliar, difficult—and honestly, overwhelming. But thankfully, along the way, I met many good people. I learned so much from them, and some gave me tremendous help. Without those people, I might not be where I am today.

As time went by, things became much more stable financially, but like anyone else, I still have moments when I feel tired or shaken. In those moments, I try to recall my beginnings and remind myself of the tough times I’ve already endured.

And when even that doesn’t work, I make a call—to one person who has always been a source of strength for me. He was my mentor when I first entered this business.
He has a wise way of seeing the bigger picture and offering guidance. I’m not particularly good at expressing my feelings, but somehow, he always understands what’s on my heart—sometimes even before I finish speaking. And then, he gives me exactly the words I need to hear.

Today, I called him again. And as always, he pointed me in the right direction.
At that moment, I felt deeply grateful and thought, “I’m not alone after all.”

In life, success isn’t built by skill alone—it grows stronger through the relationships we build along the way.
And so, once again, I’ve made a promise to myself:
One day, I will be that kind of person for someone else.
