The Hot Summer of 2026 Is Slowly Coming to an End

8/31/2026

The last day of August.

This summer has been unusually hot.

The bright, intense sunshine.
The heat you can feel before you even get into your car.
And all those days when you start sweating just by standing outside for a few minutes.

But sometimes I find myself thinking,

“Maybe this is part of what makes Georgia special.”

Under the hot Georgia sun,
a sudden summer shower can come pouring down.

It may last only a short time, and then, as if nothing ever happened,
the sun comes back out again.

Hot sunshine followed by a sudden rain shower.

Maybe this is one of the things I have come to love about Georgia after living here for so many years.

Even though this summer felt incredibly hot,
I don’t think we had quite as many days over 100 degrees as I expected.

Of course…

Summer in Georgia is a little different when you’re a real estate agent.

One of the things I love about being a Realtor is how interesting the job can be.

No matter how hot it is,
I still meet clients, show homes, prepare listings,
and sometimes spend an entire day going from one place to another.

Of course, I can’t always dress as casually as I might want to.

I could wear a tank top and shorts. Who would really complain?

But somehow, that’s just not me.

So the coolest outfit I can comfortably choose on a hot day is…a sleeveless top.

And just like that, another summer is coming to an end.

The bright and hot days of summer are slowly fading away,
and the air already feels a little different in the mornings and evenings.

And now, fall is coming.

I love summer.

I love those hot summer days when the sunlight is so bright
that you can barely look straight ahead.

And I love fall, too.

I love the slightly cool weather—not quite cold.
The kind of weather when you can put on a light jacket,
stand a little taller, and enjoy a walk outside.

More than anything,
I think fall is a season that makes us look forward to new beginnings.

Who will I meet this fall?
What homes will I discover?
What new listings will be waiting for me?

And what new stories will find their way into my life?

Working in real estate isn’t just about buying and selling homes.

Along the way,
I get to meet so many people’s lives and stories.

Some people are beginning a new chapter in a new home.
Others are leaving behind a home they’ve lived in for many years and heading somewhere new.

That’s why, to me, real estate is more than buying and selling homes.

It’s also about being part of people’s new beginnings.

After saying goodbye to this hot summer,
I’m getting ready to welcome fall.

I wonder what good things will be waiting for me this fall.

I’m looking forward to the new season
with a little bit of excitement.

And I hope your fall will be filled with many wonderful things, too.
